We collaborate with partners who share our vision to challenge and dismantle oppressive systems while driving positive, transformative change. Our mission is to reshape the development sector by equipping decision-makers with the intersectional feminist insights, strategies, and tools needed to foster meaningful change for the diverse communities they serve. We are committed to ensuring that all voices, particularly those of marginalised groups, are heard, valued, and empowered in the processes of social and economic development.
Role Overview
The Gender and Health Specialist will support a strategic partnership with a large donor to better enable health systems to deliver targeted technical assistance aimed at strengthening gender integration across health investments. This will focus on developing practical tools, sharpening conceptual frameworks, generating actionable evidence, and promoting the adoption of gender-intentional approaches.
This role requires deep technical expertise in gender and health systems, a track record of translating analysis into action and experience delivering high-quality, values-driven consulting in complex global health contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Advisory Services
- Deliver high-impact, context-specific gender integration technical assistance to health teams and their partners via Kore Global’s Gender and Inclusion (G&I) helpdesk, ensuring timely, tailored, and analytically rigorous support that informs programmatic and portfolio strategy; strengthens implementation, monitoring, and evaluation; and ultimately advances health equity outcomes
- Lead and contribute to technical reviews of investment documents and co-design sessions with partners to embed gender integration across program design, implementation, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems
- Design and advance the uptake of gender and inclusion metrics aligned with health outcome areas, ensuring consistency across investments and enabling meaningful performance tracking
- Develop practical, user-centered tools—such as guidance notes, checklists, and templates—to support systematic gender integration throughout investment cycles, and tailor their dissemination for both internal and external stakeholders
Learning and Thought Leadership
- Co-develop and implement a G&I learning agenda, focusing on what works to drive equitable outcomes in health investments
- Synthesize evidence from desk reviews, investment reviews, and co-design sessions to inform external learning digests and thematic briefs
- Track feedback and success metrics and feed results into adaptive management processes
Capacity Building and Relationship Management
- Cultivate strong working relationships with partners to enable strategic alignment, responsiveness, and coherence across workstreams.
- Equip teams to apply gender tools in their portfolio design, budgeting, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts.
- Design and lead orientation and capacity-strengthening engagements to support the integration of gender goals and tools into health investment design and implementation.
Organizational Learning and Collaboration
- Actively contribute to Kore Global’s internal learning agenda and refinement of feminist strategy and technical delivery tools in the health sector, including specifically primary health care, MCHN, SRHR, and digital health.
- Model feminist principles and behaviours in all external and internal engagements, fostering a culture of collaboration, equity, and care.
