Rebecca is a hero. She is one of my heroes, for sure. Every day she gives voice to the unheard girls all around the world seeking a better life. She does it with intellectual rigor. She does it with creative vision. But above all she does it with unparalleled passion and determination. I have personally witnessed Rebecca transform a room of investor sceptics, co-create with an entrepreneur to adjust their distribution model, and most importantly engage in the most human and honest way with girls themselves. Her work cannot be defined merely as great “research.” Rebecca’s work is a study for a better, faster, and more efficient way to change the world. There is only one Rebecca Calder, and I’m honoured and happy to know and work with her.

When Adolescents 360 contracted Kore Global to support us in developing a draft of a global gender strategy for the project, we knew it was a big ask. Harmonizing a huge, complex portfolio across four countries – building on the work we had already done over the last five years but looking to the next five to envision a project which leaned into issues around gender and social inclusion with much more intentionality. Emily and Rebecca put the time and effort into understanding what we wanted, facilitating a collaborative process to help us put together a strategy that would truly be used and not just sit on the shelf. Throughout that process, they remained flexible and adapted when we asked them to make strategic shifts and generated a product that is a great foundation for the work that A360 wants to do moving forward. They embodied the qualities that A360 needed in a thought partner – challenging us to think more ambitiously, but also recognizing when we as a project needed to work within our existing constraints. We are grateful for the expertise and collaboration they brought to the process.

It was an enriching experience working with the Kore team for myself and my colleagues. The resulting gender analysis reports are being used across our teams and are already feeding into the design of more gender sensitive projects.

Emily is fabulous to work with. I loved both her ideas and her professional delivery. She has exciting, challenging ideas and a drive to open up new possibilities. She can see connections and helped us broker exciting new partnerships that we hadn’t ever imagined before but which have taken our program to a new level and into new spaces. Valuable research requires genuine curiosity, rigour and deep insight. These are attributes central to Rebecca Calder’s practice alongside hard work, commitment and intellectual engagement. I have worked with Rebecca on a range of assignments including evaluation design, supporting social enterprises on impact assessment and on adolescent girl research. She is consistent in the high calibre of her work, her passion and her focus. I look forward to our next collaboration.

Rebecca has ensured that the complex issues of girl impact in the range of markets where we worked is both understood by our businesses and stakeholders, and also actionable by them. Her work has been critically important in connecting how businesses approach innovation and what the real needs are in the market, and it will be thanks to her that businesses develop something of true social value. On top of that, she has the rare gift of combining academic rigor, personal passion, and a talent for narrative that brings sometimes abstract discussions to workable next steps.

Kore listened closely and understood our initial brief, bringing a lot of learning and much joy to what most of the team considers to be a fairly dry process. They were particularly good at helping us think through how to measure difficult to measure concepts (such as norm change and social and political change) in ways that made sense, and without over promising on our possible contribution whilst still making it meaningful and valuable. They were able to pivot quickly and sympathetically once we changed direction. We feel that we have the structure of a MEL system that can help us uncover our impact. Two things make Kore outstanding to work with: They bring joy to monitoring, evaluation and learning – they are generous with their knowledge, and able to make what can be a somewhat dry process exciting. They are able to unpack difficult to measure concepts like gender norm change, and social and political change, without over stating contributions that cannot be attributed (and are cringeworthy) whilst shedding a spotlight on what we do that is meaningful and valuable.

Over the past 12 months we have developed a truly seamless collaboration with Kore Global that has enabled us to work highly adaptively to implement an innovative research program across multiple countries amid all the intensity and challenges that we face during a global pandemic. Kore Global staff have a highly intuitive way of working that brings out the best in all of our teams who are engaged on the project. We are thrilled with the results we are beginning to see and look forward to continuing and deepening our work together.

Unreasonable Group’s senior leadership team had the pleasure of working with the team at Kore Global to comprehensively define our Theory of Change. Kore Global’s expert team helped guide the work from the earliest hands-on co-development stage to enable us to build a solid visual representation of the broad landscape and deep interconnectivity of our work, which we then were able to distill and condense into a simple visual model that has been instrumental in aligning the company around our shared purpose and impact. The guidance and support provided by the Kore Global team was essential to assisting Unreasonable Group with finding the right perspective and direction for the project and we are thrilled with the result!

Kore Global has been an amazing partner and friend to Women Deliver. They have been invaluable, not just in their brilliance as evaluators, facilitators, and technical experts in MEL, TOC, and RBM approaches – but in how they worked in an inclusive and flexible manner with our staff, partners and, most importantly, our advocates. We embarked on approaches that involved our entire global community, that were innovative given our global advocacy focus, and they consistently delivered.
